There are many ways to store your jewelry. It all depends on the space you have and the type of jewelry you prefer. Before you begin organizing, lay out all of the jewelry you own. This is a great time to pass on items that you no longer use or wear. Once you know how much jewelry you need to store, and what type it is, you can design the perfect organizational solution.
Do you have mostly rings, bracelets, and earrings? Do you have a drawer system in your closet? Then add drawer dividers to store your favorite jewels. You can get custom designed dividers, or you can DIY your own with a simple silverware organizer. Put your most used items in an easy to reach drawer and then add the remaining items to the back of the drawer or the next available drawer space.
Are you a necklace-a-holic? Have some extra wall space? Consider using a series of hooks to hang all those gorgeous jewels. This organization style has two benefits. One: your necklaces will no longer be a tangled mess! Two: you can easily see what you have, which makes it so much easier to decide what to wear.

Stow your everyday jewelry in plain sight near your getting-ready station to make it easy to grab your favorite accessories. Keep necklaces knot-free by hanging them on a makeup mirror or a wall-mount hook. Stow the smaller stuff in decorative trays, dishes, or bowls that are big enough so pieces won’t intermix. Keep a small vessel on your nightstand as a safe place to stow the earrings or necklaces you forgot to put away before getting under the covers.
Bag It Up
When you are getting ready to head out the door to you feel like a grocery store clerk? You may not ask “paper or plastic” but we’re guessing you debate “shoulder” or “crossbody” or “tote” or “clutch” or…or…or. If you’ve got more bags that there are months of the year, then it’s time to find an organization solution that works!
First think about how you think about bags. Say that 10 times fast! What we mean is, consider how you categorize bags in your mind. Do you think of them by color? Or by type? Or by size? Once you know how you search for your bag you will know how to store those bags!
If you search for a bag that will match or coordinate with your outfit, then organize by color! Use a series of cubbies to store your bags where you can see each one. You could also use a bookshelf or the shelf above your closet rod to line up bag after bag.

Accessorize Yourself
Are you wondering what other accessories there could possibly be after jewelry and purses? Well…belts, hats, sunglasses, and scarves of course! The items may be different but many of the strategies are the same. Belts, hats, and scarves can all be hung on a series of wall hooks. You can use the back of the closet door to add a hat rack. Or add a tension rod and hang those pesky accessories with shower hooks.

I have quite a few sunglasses, but I can never keep track of them since they’re always strewn about in random spots throughout my place. Yesterday I created a more streamlined solution, while still adhering to the minimalist vibe of my bedroom. I used an extra frame from a recent project (that’s painted the same color as my wall) and used it to corral all of my eyewear. It took only a few minutes to complete!
